Testing preview. Use a synthetic @mail.test account and the dedicated test mail server. Real customer mailboxes are disabled.

Gmail, POP3, and providers that require OAuth-only login are not supported. GMX and WEB.DE may require you to enable IMAP first.

TLS and certificate checks are always required. If SMTP fails, disable Send mail to continue with IMAP.

What Letterbox can do

These permissions limit this application. Your mail password may technically grant broader access at your provider. Mail shared with ChatGPT follows your ChatGPT data and memory settings; disconnecting here does not delete chat content.

Connecting means you accept the terms and have permission to access this mailbox.

Your credentials stay here

Passwords go directly to Letterbox and are encrypted. ChatGPT receives access to the tools you approve, never your mail password.

Send on your terms

Every send needs your explicit confirmation of the recipients, subject, and full message. A connection test never sends mail.

Free includes a rolling window of up to 25 admitted Inbox messages. Reading and replying have no monthly count within that window.
